Monee beach to lithgow

We woke up at 6am to enjoy a great sunrise at monee beach. After a nice hot shower and bacon and eggs for breakfast ( the parrots got our toast) we head to the waterfall way. About 150km of winding roads through different national parks rising up to 800m above see level and lots of waterfalls on the way. First stop the dorrigo np and rainforrest center. After walking on the skywalk above the gumtree's we did a 6.6km track on the rainforrest floor. We saw lots of birds and a python that scared the crap out of us. 2 waterfalls and 2 hours later we arrived at the van and drove on to dangar falls. Wollomombi falls was next. A huge gorge and great views. We did a 2km walk and saw wallabies and shy kangaroos. And once again a completly differen flora! Every np had different plants and vegetation. Because it was getting dark and the risk of hitting wildlife at dawn was too great we always needed to find a campground before 5pm. This time it was a free one near a lake a few km after armidale. The night was pretty cold but nothing compared to the next night!
The next day was pretty much only driving. We had about 600km to go to get the jenolan caves but only made it to lithgow as we stopped at the burning mountain. A coal seam burning underground and making the mountain smoke. We walked an hour to get there and saw ... a stinky mountain. No smoke. Not interesting.
The campground at lyall lake was deserted. The owner said nobody would come today as its gonba get really cold. It was a beautiful spot and we saw  kangaroo family. I started a nice campfire and we had a big rumpsteak (cheap here) . We froze so much that night it really wasnt funny. -5 degrees!!
We are in sydney right now but the rest up untill now will follow tomorrow :-)
Along with pics (hopefully)
